"Favors" my act of kindness
Artist Priscilla Stadler is challenging people to do great things and to put aside stereotypes. She is reaching out to our class "Intro to Art" and asked us to be apart of "art" movement and "favors." At first I was skeptical but I decided to try to see if an opportunity would come along. Because now days you can't just go knocking on a strangers door and say hey let me help you with that you might get clobbered on the head.
So it happens that an opportunity did present itself right when I got home. You see I was approached by my neighbor she had asked me to look at her laptop. She was complaining about the videos not working and she believes that she has a "virus" in the laptop and do I know what I could do to help her. I said sure no problem this would work out great for me. I began to work on the laptop and she was right the functions were failing and the Microsoft essentials security program hadn't been updated in over a year.

I knew then it would take me hours to do the job she offers to pay me $40 dollars to fix it but because of the "Favors" that I am trying to be nice and I reject the money. I began by rebooting her system and followed it up by updating adobe flash player and also Java programs. I then reinstalled the Microsoft Essentials Security for the viruses. Ran a full scan on her system in the laptop mind you I got home about 2:30pm I then noticed that my older son came home from school and that was around 5:30pm. He was very hungry and asked me to make him some food I asked him if he could wait until the system was done installing the updates and he gave me a kiss on the cheek and said sure mom I am going to play xbox then. I then was asked by my neighbor how much longer and then her husband gets home and wants to yell at me for being on "their" laptop. I then explained I was trying to do a "favor" and he says "stop all the programs that your running because you will probably just break it and then I will have to pay the Chinese people to fix it."
I was in shock and amazed how he had decide to be so rude. I did as he asked and shut all the "running" programs down. I then went to my room and fell out on my bed of exhaustion. I tried to do a good deed but I am amazed at how some people are ungrateful at the simplest acts of kindness. The worst part was I wasted all that time and I could of been making some food for my children for when they get off of school. I ended up feeling horrible as a mother because I blew off my son to help my neighbor and it got me yelled at. I hope in the future someone will appreciate the nice things I do for them.
